A place to discover (1 of 4)



The Mallorcan region Pla has no beaches, but is full of treasures. The initiative "Un Pla per descobrir" wants to show the villages of the Pla and its appeal, promoted by Agencia de Turisme de les Illes Balears and Mancomunitat Pla de Mallorca.


Every weekend in the months of October and November, two villages of the island will carry out different initiatives to promote their culture and economy. A good opportunity to rediscover the island.




October 7 and 8:


Village: Sant Joan.


Botifarró party: Great toast of Mallorcan sausages “botifarró” that is celebrated on Saturday, October 7th from 7pm until Sunday 8th October at 10pm. With direct sale of bread and sausages in charge of Embutits Sa Caldera, Can Mateu des Forn and Forn Can Company.


Guided visits:


Visit to the parish museum.

It is located in the upper gallery of the church. It is possible to contemplate a Virgin Assumpta made at the beginning of 16th century and the Baroque reliquary of the Virgin of the Consolation of 1804. The visit is destined to groups of a maximum of 20 people and lasts 30 minutes.





Saturday, October 7th from 10am to 1pm.

Sunday 8 October from 11am to 1:30pm.


Visit to the Museu de la Paraula (Word’s museum) Pare Ginard. Museu de la paraula is the birthplace of this renowned Mallorcan folklorist, collector of the ancestral mallorcan folk songs and balearic culture. The visit includes the viewing of documentary "La feina que no s'acaba mai. El cançoner de Rafel Ginard", lasts one hour for groups of up to 25 people.



Saturday 7th October from 5pm to 6pm.

Sunday 8th October from 11am to 12am.


Visit to Els Calderers. Els Calderers is an ethnological museum that represents the life of the landowners of the 13th century in an old Mallorcan possession. The visit includes a tour of all the rooms of the house, a collection of agricultural machinery and tools, animals, and wine tasting with typical products of Mallorca. The duration of the visit is 1h 30’ and the price is 9 € for those over 12 years and 4 € for the minors. Free entrance until 3 years.


Schedule: 10am to 6pm.


Other points of interest.


Puig de Sant Nofre.

Natural reserve protected, part of the possession of Sa Bastida, perfect place to hike. It has a natural viewpoint, snack areas and the ruins of an old church. It is a walk of about 9 km from the village of Sant Joan and its approximate duration is 2h 30'.


Santuari de la Consolació. It is located 1 km from the village. It’s a 13th century sanctuary that was restored in the middle of the last century.



Village: Lloret de Vistalegre:


Guided visits:


Visit inside the cloister Es Convent de Lloret de Vistalegre.

The visit lasts one hour and is free. The maximum capacity is 50 people and to arrange the visit must call 971 524 189.



Saturday 7th October from 11am to 12am and from 5pm to 6pm.

Sunday 8th October from 11am to 12am.


Visit to the workshop of blacksmith and sculptor Antonio Serón.

It is a great opportunity to know more about this work, the tools and techniques. The visit lasts one hour, it is free and a maximum of fifteen people. An appointment must be made by telephone (678 238 451) or by e-mail (info@antonioseronblasco.com).

Village: Algaida:


Autumn Fair: Algaida celebrates its autumn fair on Saturday 14th October from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You will find handicraft products, animal shows, fair trade stalls, cooperation initiatives, exhibition of old vehicles and a gastronomic show among other activities.


Guided visits.


Patrimonial route by Pina.

Cultural guided tour to discover Pina's main attractions and its stories. The visit is organized by Aldarq, is free and for all public (minimum 5 people, maximum 30). The meeting point is the Church Square of Pina. Registration at info@aldarq.com.

Walking route to La Pau de Castellitx

4 hours walk route from the Church Square of Algaida to visit the hermitage where the inhabitants of Algaida celebrate the pancaritat during the Holy Week. Aldarq organizes this free excursion for a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 30. Registration at info@aldarq.com



Sunday, 15th October at 9:30 a.m.


Visit to the museum and artisan glass factory Can Gordiola.

A great opportunity to learn this traditional art of blowing glass by one of the most established local companies with a show of the craftsmanship. Visits are free and do not require prior reservation.



Saturday October 14th from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Demonstrations from 9 am to 1.30 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Sunday October 15th from 9 a.m. to 13:30 p.m. Demonstrations from 9am to 12pm.


Visit to Bodegas OM Oliver Moragues.

Visit to the possession, the vineyards and the winery, with explanations on the elaboration of the wine and introduction to the tasting with 4 varieties of wines and sweet and salty mallorcan snacks. The visit lasts 2h and price is 20 € per person. Minimum 10 people, maximum 25. Reservations at 646 26 72 54 and at info@olivermoragues.com.

Village: Santa Eugenia:


Guided visits


Visit to Natura Parc.

It is a center for animal recovery and exhibition of native animals, a point of reference for all animal lovers. They make concerted visits. The prices are 15 € adults (11 € residents) and 9 € children (7 € residents). Under 3 years, free admission.



Every day from 10am to 5.30pm.


Visit to Vinya Taujana.

Tour for 1h 30 'for this winery which includes snacks. Visits price between 4€ and 6€ and must be arranged by telephone (971 14 44 94) or by e-mail (vinyataujana@gmail.com) in advance.
