The initiative "Un Pla per descobrir", promoted by Agència de Turisme de les Illes Balears and Mancomunitat Pla de Mallorca, proposes us to visit the villages of Pla de Mallorca and learn from the roots and the Mallorcan culture during the weekends of October and November.

 

Costitx, Maria de la Salut and Sencelles are the main protagonists of this article in which we review the activities scheduled for the first half of November.

 

Weekend of November 4th and 5th.

 

Village: Costitx

 

Guided tours

 

Guided tours by Costitx led by Cati Rodillo. Two hour visits to the main places of the village. Starting point at the Casa de Cultura. 3 € per person, free activity for children under 8 years old. Max. 30 people. Registrations at 616 204 512.

Saturday 4th of November from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm.

Sunday 5th November from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm.

 

Visit to the natural sciences museum of Costitx, with one of the most important collections of the Balearic Islands in Natural Sciences. Price: 1'5 € per person, free of charge for children under 8 years old.

Sunday 5th November from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm.

 

Archeology on wheels: Archaeological route of Costitx by Marc Ferrer. The Sanctuary of Son Corró, the village of Turassot and the Talaiot de Binifat will be visited by bicycle. Meeting point, the parking lot of the Costitx astronomical observatory. Duration: 2 hours. Max. 50 persons.

Saturday 4th November: from 10 am to 12 noon and from 12 pm to 2 pm.

 

Visit to the Costitx astronomical observatory "Discovering the universe" with astronomical observation with telescopes (if the weather is favorable). The visit consists of the session "The current sky" in the planetarium, the meteorite exhibition and the observation of the moon in the telescope domes, and lasts two hours. Maximum 65 people. The price is 10 € per person.

Saturday 4th November: 6 pm to 8 pm.

Sunday 5th November: from 6pm to 8pm (by reservation).

Visits:

 

Cultural route through Maria de la Salut. Walking tour of the most interesting places of María de la Salut: Ancient laundries, Ca l' Amo in Gaspar, Parish Church of Maria, Rectory, Chapel Fonda, Can Nepto mill, Cotó mill, Cas Metge Monjo and escola baix. Duration: 2 h.

 

Other activities.

Archaeological route through Sencelles "Archeology on wheels". Family archeological route with bicycle. We will visit the Camp des Bisbe cave, Son Fred's talaiot and Can Xim's talaies. Meeting point: Camp del bisbe cave. Max: 50 people. Price: 3 €, under 12 years free of charge.

Baptism of Ponies in S' Hort Vell. Activity aimed at children from 3 to 8 years old who have never ridden before. Duration 2 hours. Free activity.

Route of the Sencelles cycling club. Itinerary: Sencelles - Pina - Algaida - Santa Eugènia - Sta. María del Cami - Cami vell de Muro - Muro - (Snack) - Sta. Margalida - Maria de la Salut - Sineu - Sencelles. (Total 86 Km). For people over 14 years old. Departure in front of the town hall.
