Festivity of Sant Ignasi in Son Servera

February 1st

On February the 1st Son Servera celebrates one of the most significant festivities for the village: the Festivity of Sant Ignasi. This date commemorates the lifting of the sanitary cord established in the town due to the epidemic of the plague in 1820.

The festivity's events are usually concentrated in a day, and the main activities are the solemn mass followed by the floral offering to the sculpture of the pastoret, the institutional act that takes place in the City Council of Son Servera and the delivery of various prizes, such as the research prize 'Metge Joan Lliteres' or the school prizes of poetry and glosa (gloss).
